Small Business

Photo

One of my colleagues posted this on Facebook and I was so proud of her. Its one of the reasons I pay more to have American Express as a partner. They are the big business that supports small business. I have done some major research into them and their ideals align with mine for the most part.

I also try to support the small businesses in my area. The garage down the street. The salon that opened up recently. Our local burger joint. That's not to say that the big boxes are off my list, just ask Best Buy & Starbucks. But if I can help it small business is for me!

Thank you to our clients that have helped my daughter become a level 7 award winning gymnast. Thank you for helping my dyslexic daughter become a better reader. And supporting my son though heart surgery after being 12 weeks early. Your photos are not just your memories. They have helped Melanie and I have our own.

Debby, Tony & a Minjagrapher

I had the opportunity to photograph a great couple yesterday. Debbie & Tony joined me at a nature center and brought along Sarah,Debbie's daughter. That want the only surprise. The warte in the river was higher than I had ever seen it. That made for some great opportunities. Another opportunity presented itself with Sarah. She was a little antsy, so since she seems like a responsible teen/tween i let her use my backup DSLR. Neither of our shots are here but how about some phonetography/

The News About These Boys

Painting With Light Wedding Economics

Ok so you have the florist, the cake, the wedding planner, the church, the dj, the soloist, the band, the dress, the wedding rings, the hall, the caterer, the tux and of course the ninjagraphers. Whew thats alot of folks to keep track of! Its also alot of finances to track.

Some of you are great with that. Others of you may have added a bookeeper to that list two weeks into the preparation. If I could, I'd like to give you my two cents on this. If you have a Charge or credit card that can be used for it, use it. The tracking of the expenses is so much easier with most of the card companies now! If you don't have a charge or credit card look into using your bank card. You can then put that in your Quicken or other bookkeeping software. Some of my clients like to use the website Mint.com for tracking as well.

I personally am a fan of American Express. The company embodies alot of what I personally believe for customer service. I also love the rewards program available. Think about it. The average wedding in the US costs $27,800. If your card carrier gives you points, that could be (in the case of AMEX) a Bose music system, or Antwerp 14kt White Gold Pearl & Diamond Earrings, or an awesome Canon printer or even some sweet golf clubs! Thats not to say that spending shouldn't be resposible. However, wouldn't it be nice to get something extra for the spending you are already going to do?

With that said, Painting With Light would like to announce the acceptance of American Express, Visa, Mastercard, & Discover. You can give us a call or write for details.

Personal Paparazzi Day 6 & Travel Home

Well I didn't write last night as we needed to be on the road back to Atlanta by 4am. Yesterday was a great end to a wonderful experience we all had dinner at Paula Deen's Lady & Sons after being joined by Kris' brother Greg and his wife Erin who were just starting their vacation. Although Greg had seen the ocean many times as a semi truck driver, he had never been in it. We captured that first moment for them.

Personal Paparazzi Day 5 Part 1

Back on the job with a relaxing time by the pool. The Eicher's met up with their chiropractor here and had some good conversation as the kids played. We then separated because Donny set up for a charter fishing boat with captain Brad. We had an awesome time. I got to do some fishing and caught a shark, a sea bass and two stingrays!here are a few phonetography pics.

Personal Paparazzi Day 4 (the day off)

Our hosts were kind enough to give us the day off. So we just played on the beach for a while. (some chill time with the kids too)  Also since my brother lives in Atlanta, he met us at the airport with gifts. Including these awesome hats! You can't go wrong with a big floppy hat at the beach!

Personal Paparazzi Day 3 Part 2

I almost went to bed without an update! Well after a scrumptious lunch we headed back to the rooms for a rest. After which we went out to the low tide pools. We then had some time to settle down. The kids went to play in the playground before we went out to save sand dollars and jellyfish from a dehydrating death. Have a good night after enjoying a few phonetography images!

Personal Paparazzi Day 3 Part 1

Today we started off with a beach walk. But that quickly turned into a pier walk. The wind picked up a bit. After a quick snack we went on a dolphin tour. After we had lunch at the local restaurant Coco's! The crab stew was stupendous!  Lots of great DSLR shots but here are a few phonetography images.
